Black-headed Python

Size: About 2.6 metres
Family: Pythonidae (Python family, about 26 species in the world)
Distribution: Northern parts of Australia, as south as the border where SA meets NT and QLD.
Habitat: Not found in the really dry arid regions.

About the Black-headed Python
The Black-headed Python has a very disctinctive black head, neck and throat. The body and tail are cream, brown, or reddish-brown with darker bands.
